Hi, I’m Jennifer

As you may have guessed from the name of my counseling practice, I too have had hard seasons in life where I have felt lost and without hope. The people who have meant the most to me during these dark times were safe people who cared for me unconditionally and listened to me while I wandered through the desert of my soul. Counseling is, in many ways, an extension of my story as I now listen to and encouraged fellow wanderers.

My role, then is to give you a safe place to process your story, aloud & uncensored, until you feel truly heard and understood. I will listen for the themes of your journey so far, and together we will create a new story of a hopeful future. I will help you identify what you still need for your story—whether it’s practical tools, life-giving relationships, new perspectives, or spiritual healing. I will be there to support you, as you take one step at a time to walk the road of life in the freedom that God desires for you.

As a licensed professional counselor, I have training in multiple therapeutic techniques, but I work in the context of narrative therapy and draw from other counseling methods such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution-focused therapy, and Brainspotting.

I received a Master of Arts in Counseling from B. H. Carroll Theological Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University. I have specialized training in grief & loss, career counseling, life coaching, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Brainspotting, emotional abuse/narcissism, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2) Additionally, I am a certified Brainspotting practitioner.

Prior to counseling, I worked in Adult Education and non-profit ministry, assisting adults in transition or crisis. When I am not counseling, I love to ride my bike, hike, read a good book, or relax with my family and friends. The only thing that could make any of these pastimes any better is pairing them with Mexican food!
